Taking medicine to a local pharmacy
In England, all pharmacies are required to accept unwanted medicine.
If you’ve received medicine you no longer need, you can take it to any local pharmacy and they’ll dispose of it safely for you.
Returning unwanted medicine to us
You can send unwanted medicine back to us, if you prefer.
Before sending medicine to us, be sure to check which medicines can be returned.
After we receive your medicine, we’ll sort it into solids, liquids, and aerosols. The local NHS England Team will then arrange for a waste contractor to pick up the medicine.
